Sushine Paradise:Boss

Hey, guys created this topic for all show their ideas to the first boss of Open Surge.
Well, my idea: The big wolf.
He is behind the stage and only his head is  attainable. But his head is too high for Surge achieve it. So he leverages hispunches to reaches his head .Thus:

the red in his hands is the one that Surge may rise, and the yellow part is that it can not touch.

Looks awesome rage, maybe if wolf changed speed/direction and or timing of the punches this would be a full fledged boss.

One good example is the little horn boss from Super Meat Boy:

I think that's the way to go.

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

I don't think that this is a good boss idea for the first level, but a similar thing could be used later in the game.

why not? I think that can be a pretty easy boss. and fun.

for a later level, maybe we can use a harder version of the same concept. but i think this is very nice for the first level. Plus, we're getting some concrete definition right now.

that's pretty cool, as long as it stays easy.

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

The thing is, the way he punches looks like instant death if you get hit the wrong way (in other words, squished by his fist).

Like Alex said, as long as it's easy and has no one hit death moves.

if it punches you, you could just lose some rings smile, and you could eventually recover them.

Should I make a concept art of this boss? If yes, I can do it tomorrow.

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

The brickset looked pretty good, but I plan to eliminate water from it. Not only SSP wouldn't be a water level, it has to be a meadow. KZR's water object should suffice here. Waterworks Zone is where I'll mess with water. tongue

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

I've heard of works in a new scripted water system from Silverstepp, and it does seem lighter and simpler. maybe he'd be willing to contribute that object to this project once he finishes it. Silver, what do you think?

Regarding the brickset, i'll try and post some work on it today, because i'll be out until monday without computers or internet access, and in that time someone can pick it up.

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

The rumor is true. It's coming out along with a demo of Mechanical Marathon soon.

But it's not completely done as of this moment.

Re: Sushine Paradise:Boss

I like that idea! But silverstepp is right, i dont think it would be good for a first boss either,

But, if it gets published (for a boss) because it does not look like it could hurt you (no offence but it does not) you could put spikes at the bottom of his hands (also known as claws!)

Thx big_smile

The giant wolf boss kinda reminds me of Wham Bam Rock from Kirby.
