First of all, since I'm new to the project and this forum, hello! I discovered OpenSurge yesterday, and since I like the style as well as the modding capabilities the engine seems to have, I decided to join in. I did a few searches and looked a bit through the wiki to see how development was going. As someone who's been following (and occasionally contributing to) several open-source games, I noticed that it seems to be missing something that's nowadays vital (in my opinion) for any FOSS project: A repository.
I am talking about a SVN or (preferably) GIT service, in which the source code and potentially levels and art are maintained, and from which users can directly compile the binaries. Nowadays the best option for this is GitHub, which I use for a while now and am very happy with... there are alternatives too in case those are better, such as GitLab or Google Code. One advantage is that people can more easily fork projects (not that such is needed in this case), and most importantly create contributions and submit them as pull requests to help with development even further.
Is there a reason why OpenSurge isn't being hosted on GitHub or a similar service, and is there any hope of that changing? Who else is in favor of the idea, and prefers using GIT to run the development version and / or contribute to the code?

OpenSurge does have a subversion.
You can learn more about it on the wiki here:

Hope this helps,

Aha... thanks! Checked out the SVN and compiled. Strange it was so difficult to find, although I tend to be bad with searches so it might be that.
