Spider Hill Zone Act 1

Hello, I'm new here xD. Well not THAT new since I've used OpenSonic before, but now I did a level that I wish to share for reviews and to hear what everyone has to say.

First of all the very first part of the level is loosely based on the leaked footage of Sonic 4 XD. Other than that, I went crazy with the rest. It's kinda chaotic stage, and full of spider enemies, I might have over done it with spiders in some places and some parts I think suffer from my thinking them with the view size that u get in the level editor, rather than what the player sees when the camera is upclose. Oh and you can only use Sonic on the Stage tongue Spider Hill Zone 2 is a Knuckles Stage, and Hill 3 is a Tails Stage, but those other 2 aren't finished yet.

You can download it here:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0K1FX01P

Oh and the Level Theme song is also a 16 bit rendering of Splash Hill Zone (Also from Sonic 4) xD

Here are some screenshots:

s004.png?t=1267510286

s026.png?t=1267510239

There are 2 big rings to find, and 3 visor thingies xD

Edit: I should add that there are 3 ways to reach the end singpost.

Re: Spider Hill Zone Act 1

Welcome, wrath1138! smile

Are you the one who made Sonic Airis Rescue? 'cause I saw that months ago on youtube!

Great job, by the way. smile How long did you take to create this level? It's nice and there are multiple routes! I couldn't find a 3rd way to reach the end signpost yet.

I need to point out that there are a few wrong constructions there, though. Whenever you place a yellow loop object, you're "opening" a loop. You must always "close" a loop by inserting a red loop object, otherwise your character may be able to run through the walls and do other strange stuff. The following loop is incorrect:

I could bug your level by moving backwards at that loop and exploring the rest of the level without touching a red loop object. The correct construction would be:

s001.th.png

If you want to do more sophisticated constructions like multiple layers, you are invited to study the Template Level (options => stage select)

The following construction is also incorrect:

Also, you should not use 90-degrees bricks as regular soil/brick.

Other than that, it's a great level. We hope to see more of this! wink

Re: Spider Hill Zone Act 1

Thank you! and yes, I was working on Airis Requiem based of a character that a friend created XD Awesome that you saw that. Also thanks for pointing out the closing the loop things, I kinda forgot to add them later, and I thought I didn't need them for 90 degree stuff XD since they kinda worked ^^u

It took me about hmm dunno, I started friday and finished up yesterday with long breaks in between xD And yesterday was mostly about making the level pretty XD.

Act 2 is almost finished xD Gotta make it pretty and all now.
