We really need a 'mod' area in the forum, because now there's becoming a fair amount of them, and its starting to get mixed up with the official stuff...

hello, of course, I have the same idea, you need a mod post, because I can not put my mod levels in the post, custom levels (original), alexandre, would have to make a post of mods, greetings big_smile

happy birthday, creatorsonic smile

It's your birthday, but you are the one who gave us the birthday gift. Your mod is great. I've played it to the end and it's very enjoyable. Your levels have multiple paths and they are fun. Nice job!

There are some things to watch for, like the lamp post in Bridge Zone that kills you when you respawn (see picture), some musics that just don't fit (like Bridge Zone 2), some objects that don't behave well (like that red thing similar to a spring in level 2 - maybe putting a springfy_player command helps), and the bosses - which could be customized. Also, it took me a while to figure out the puzzle in the first act of the second level.

It's a great mod. The backgrounds are well made, the levels are fun and the demo is enjoyable. Will you continue this project?

???

Really? How many downloadable MODs? Perhaps a page in the wiki listing MODs with reasonable quality would suffice.

Downloadable? Not many. Being discussed? About... 5, i think. There's mine, wrath's, creatorsonics, so-nicks, and kzr's.

I have no problems with the end result being in Custom Levels. I just think the discussion of quests should have their own place because it seems there's really no proper place for it (General comes across as being for official stuff).

Unless there is something more - like some interesting stuff to encourage users to make their own MODs - creating a whole new area in the forums just for handling a few topics is overkill. I agree that discussing MODs in the General discussion area is not quite correct, but there's the Off-topic board too.

:-/ Kind of a dilemma. It isn't really 'off-topic' either, per say...

Maybe not just mods, but custom levels with no download link?

hmmm, ok. If you wish to talk more about this matter, please create a new thread, and I'll be happy to discuss it with you. Care must be taken not to deviate from the main subject here: creatorsonic's MOD.

A lot of effort has been put in creatorsonic's MOD, and playing it really made my day. big_smile

Re: please delete post alexandre

creatorsonic25, i love your mod! it looks and feels like a Sonic game. well done!

i found a few issues you may want to fix:

Tropic Island, Act 1 (the first level) the checkpoint near the tree with a life monitor.

be careful how you place enemies when making levels, you had a checkpoint very close to an enemy. every time i died and went back to the checkpoint i died again and again because the enemy was too close.
checkpoints are supposed to be in safe places, or at least far away so there is time to kill them.

Tropic Island Act 2 - The area with 3 moving squares

It's normal that the blocks smash sonic when they are moving TO him, not AWAY from him.
This happens when trying to jump from the first block (that goes up and down) to the second (moving left and right). if i fall in the small gap when they are moving away, BOOM instant death

Act 3 - After the boss

There is a huge fall after the animal box. did you forget a brick or an object somewhere away from the level?

I didn't have a chance to play more. I'll tell you all i can find smile

Re: please delete post alexandre

Whoa! This is a definitely a "must play" case. If you enjoy puzzle games then this is for you, add sonic's speed and you got a brain-trainer that can be quite addictive. Good music, nice graphics and very nice levels makes this one of the best mods I've played!

Re: please delete post alexandre

Linux users can download the 0.1.4 binary package for Linux (or compile the game themselves) and copy all the contents of the MOD to the folder of 0.1.4.

Re: please delete post alexandre

It looks really great! Can't wait to try it!

As for the placement of mods, for now, that they're so few, you can just use [MOD] tags appended to the beginning of the post. Although, with no download, some might have to be [pre-MOD] or something similar. When they get into the 20s or more ACTIVE mods, they can be easily sorted into a separate forum if needed.
