A problem in the new sounds

I've DL'ed the latest nightbuild, and the sound is gorgeous that is getting into the game. However I noticed a problem with the ring sound. When you have many rings the sound distorts a lot when collecting the rings. Simple solution: Download this ring sound and it'll fix the distortion issue for good:

http://www.speedyshare.com/files/24627696/ring.wav

What I did: Lowered the level with 50% This does the sound a bit weaker, but will not distort the speakers when you collect 25 zillion rings a nanosecond.

Um, this isn't necessary, as we're going to create a new ring sfx anyways. No ripped stuff, remember?

Re: A problem in the new sounds

Thank you, jobromedia. smile I'm uploading it to the svn repository.

Actually, this is. I have had uploaded KZR's sound pack to the repository. More sounds are now original and free, but there are still a few ripped ones, though.

Well, there's a problem. I was about to update the repository when I realized the sample doesn't play. tongue Have you used some codec?

Re: A problem in the new sounds

Dunno why that happened. here is my version that plays perfectly in Open Surge on my computer:

Test and tell if this fails as well.

Re: A problem in the new sounds

I loved it, but can you make it louder a bit?

Your teacher asks you. What to answer? Say this:
"I thought the teacher is supposed to know."

Re: A problem in the new sounds

I suppose I can make it a bit louder, but the problem is when you make it louder it'll distort when multiple rings are being collected. That is if the ring sound could be stopped once a new ring is collected like in the original games. Sega Megadrivew / Genesis didn't have unlimited channels. It had 6 FM channels, 3 tone and 1 noise channel.
