Is it possible that we could get Open Surge running on the Dreamcast? I had someone ask that question on another forum, but it's probably unlikely because of the DC's limited memory (16 MB). Open Surge requires at least thirty times more than that to run decently on PC.
EDIT: I have seen attempts on this forum to port it to Dreamcast, and I'm wondering if any of these ports are still available or being worked on. I would love to have my mod on the DC :3

Neoblast ported an older build of Open Sonic to DC some time ago.

the memory requirements on PC are accounting for the operating system as well, hence the larger memory requirement.
with some smart png and ogg compression, and even highly optimized code and scripts to save some kb, you can fit Open Surge in 16 Mb. even 8-12, if we want to have free RAM for actually running the game
great classic DOS games were made for far inferior machines, required anywhere between 4 to 8 Mb of RAM and fit in a couple floppies, if not in a single 1.44 Mb with free space for more games.

Y'see, I am making a fan sequel to Sonic Mania called Sonic Mania 2. And I REALLY want to burn it to a disk.
I'm making a game about a blue cartoon rat. I must have made some terrible life choices.

Well, there is this thing called Windows CE that is used by the dreamcast. I think you can use it to port the game to the DC.
But if you want to make it play accurately you would pretty much have to rewrite the engine for that platform
sorry for bad grammar
