Great idea jobro!

I know you have talent enought to run something like this so good luck!

I dont think i will be able to watch it live but tell me where to download the show afterwards.

I think you are all cutting S32X right to dream cool

Maybe he only refered to the game being playable online via user-hostable servers (for up to a limit of players) and not a full-fledged MMO.

Jobro, just go with a quality with good quality/size balance like alex said.

The songs i liked the most from your new set:

Unjust measures - catchy hard sound.

Venutian flyby - great tune and perfect contrast with the base.

Unforgetable - nice tribal base and strings sound, perfect for critical moments.

In their shape - sweet atmosphere for sweet moments

The others, i didnt like them because they were dubstep and i dont like dubstep.

And now you come up with a remix of popcorn?

Dude, i love you lol

GREAT MUSIC JOBRO!

Here is my valoration:

"Powerrush" could be used for a fast-paced, perky zone like a Death Egg.

"Nasty duck" could be used for humorous moments.

"Skyligt" simply rocks. It's a great tune and could be used on anything.

"On duty" has that feeling of sneaky-like games (Metal Gear) but with a quick-paced base.

"Festive" could fit perfect in a extra/bonus scenario in Open Surge.

"True next step" = final boss.

And "devilish design" is perfect for sad/twisted moments in cutscenes.

You create great music, and i know when music is good (i listen to all genres and types of music so i've got good criteria, trust me cool) so keep at it, you've got talent and i think this music could fit perfectly into the game.

P.D: I'm clicking all the ads, you deserve it.

S32X, please, stop double-posting and EDIT your posts.

#10 Re: General » about new decorators » 2012-06-18 11:26:49

Alex, i think this post should be sticky because it's very important the explanation you gave about creating new decorators. It's a neat piece of information useful for all.

#11 Re: General » <important> new development philosophy » 2012-06-05 00:46:09

Dont get things out of hand people, please.

@S32X Alexandre doesnt annoys people, on the opposite: hes a VERY VERY patient admin of this "game"

Silverstepp did good efforts for the game and created a pretty decent mod but parted ways because he misunderstood Alex's position in this issue.

Alex doesnt want to "close" this project to a few people (payers and developers who get paid) because if he wanted to he would have done so a LONG time ago. He wants to do good things but also receive compensation because he spends LOTS of free time creating and administrating a thing that gets him ZERO money and thats great (in my opinion). I understand his point of view but i'm not gonna pay him anything; I will collaborate with Open Surge (i decided to drop my mod and start scripting things for OS in summer) but i'm not gonna ask for anything (well, except for things like the save system that are essential to any game, not just an implementation).

I think we all should re-read what alex wants to do with the game, because he never said "lets do a closed-project".

Thanks for reading.

Can you even compile something in a mac?

Alternative: just take the vacation without sonic, when you are back you will be asking for it even more! cool

#13 Re: Games » Sonic Dimensional Game » 2012-04-22 12:48:43

Use it as you wish, i just googled "image" and that fabulous bg popped lol

#14 Re: Games » Sonic Dimensional Game » 2012-04-22 00:11:28

The edit is ok but i think you ned to put the complete image link, like this:

 [ img ]http://www.prelovac.com/vladimir/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/example.jpg [ /img ]

The result:

#15 Re: Games » Sonic Dimensional Game » 2012-04-21 23:07:54

Its ok but one last thing:

You can put images directly into the post by puting the link to the image in between the code: [ img ][ /img ] (without the spaces) cool

Screens and explanation please.
SELL what you are posting instead of just giving a link.

The art is clashing cause these images are presented more as a proof-of-concept and not as a final brickset. Enemies alongside some other art already in-game clashes with the design too.

Does this mean I should redo the concepts for those other
enemies?

Well, since the stuff I added is "borrowed" maybe when the bricksets are more polished and the foliage added, it will all fit in properly. Alex had some ideas for this too, we should ask him more in depth to this. I think he mentioned it since I used lady bugsy on my test, and that is kinda 3D-ish and then we have mostly 2D art for everything else.

You people are doing a great job, I was just implying that the art for the level should be consistent, I know they are just concept now because art for the level is not finished but it is still looking good. Keep up the good work team Surge!

I think the background palm tree is way out of style in comparison with the foreground one.

Substitute the background one with a modified version of the foreground one or just copy it in the background.

P.D: Foreground palm tree rocks XD. Good job.

#19 Re: Assets » Sunshine Paradise SVG Concepts » 2012-04-14 19:54:29

Alex, one thing is inexperienced and other thing is playing with half-brain.

If they dont even know how to spindash or open a door to enter with other character they just have to find the way (there are only 4 directions and 2 buttons...)

I know we are creating the game for all kind of publics but if you are playing a sonic clone you have to know what to expect.

Anyway, the tutorial should have started with "how to spindash" for example and not letting the player go on until spindash is completed.

Sonic bosses arent too hard but if you make em too easy there will be just no challenge for the player
Even so, dificulty must be progressive from stage to stage, bosses included.

I'd rather have it throwing flames from the start. After it changes into "Dark Burst Mode", the flames turn into dark energy balls that explodes and creates a shock wave upon impact.

Good idea.

#21 Re: Assets » Sunshine Paradise SVG Concepts » 2012-04-13 17:31:44

I think it's a good idea. The boss could also change behaviour (more attacks, quicker, etc) when he is hit a number of times.

#22 Re: General » Problem with brickset editor » 2012-04-12 17:01:43

What is said is that i could go on just clicking ignore. I had a DIFFERENT error.

#23 Re: General » Problem with brickset editor » 2012-04-11 09:42:25

S32X, i had the same problem with the brickset editor.

Truth is, it failed to open but you could continue using the editor after the error because it was only a problem of "couldnt find language files" but i just clicked continue and went on with the editor.

In your case i think KZR is right, you might be lacking microsoft net framework. Just google it and download from the microsoft page the latest version.

#24 Re: Assets » Music for the game » 2012-04-10 09:15:34

Wow! Thanks a lot!

This was a track created by me a long time ago and i just thought it would be ok to try and introduce it to the people here for listening and opinion.

Glad you two liked it, i think i should post the rest of my songs...
